The trustees have overall responsibility for the governance of GOREM and work together to ensure that the organisation is managed responsibly, ethically and in accordance with its governing documents and applicable legal requirements.
Responsibilities of the Trustees
Our trustees are responsible for:
- Providing strategic direction and oversight of GOREM’s charitable activities.
- Ensuring that GOREM remains focused on its charitable objectives and public benefit.
- Acting in the best interests of the organisation and its beneficiaries.
- Overseeing the responsible management of charitable funds and other resources.
- Ensuring appropriate financial controls and accountability are maintained.
- Overseeing risks and making sure appropriate measures are in place to manage them.
- Supporting good safeguarding practices across the organisation.
- Ensuring that appropriate policies and procedures are established and reviewed.
- Promoting transparency, integrity and accountability throughout GOREM.
- Ensuring that the organisation’s activities are carried out responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

2. Volunteers
Volunteer With GOREM
Volunteers are an important part of GOREM’s work. We welcome individuals who are willing to contribute their time, skills, experience and compassion to support our charitable and community activities.
Our volunteers may support different areas of our work, depending on their skills, experience and the needs of the organisation.
How Volunteers Can Help
Volunteer opportunities may include:
- Supporting community outreach programmes.
- Assisting with charitable activities and distribution of support.
- Supporting educational and Bible College activities.
- Helping with events and community programmes.
- Providing administrative and organisational support.
- Supporting fundraising and awareness activities.
- Assisting with communications and digital activities.
- Supporting the work of GOREM’s churches and community initiatives.
- Contributing professional skills and expertise where appropriate.
Who Can Volunteer?
We welcome people who share our commitment to serving others and who are willing to contribute positively to our work.
Depending on the role, volunteers may be required to provide references, complete appropriate checks or undertake relevant training before beginning their duties. Roles involving children, vulnerable adults or other people who may require additional protection will be subject to appropriate safeguarding procedures.

3. Safeguarding
Safeguarding at GOREM
GOREM is committed to creating a safe, respectful and welcoming environment for everyone who comes into contact with our organisation.
We recognise our responsibility to protect children, young people and adults who may be at risk of harm, abuse, neglect or exploitation.
Safeguarding is an important responsibility shared by trustees, staff, volunteers, ministry leaders and everyone involved in GOREM’s activities.
